About this Event
Join us for a 5k race through the streets of Groveland to kickoff our Groveland Day festivities.
It's so much fun we have it every year! Sign up early to get the best price!
This race is generously being sponsored by Norwood Insurance in honor of Peter Bevelaqua. Peter was the quintessential Groveland boy who grew up a block from Elm Square on the Merrimack River where he’d cruise on his boat in this all-American town we will celebrate during Groveland Day. Peter was a lifetime member of the Groveland community where he played little league and was a member of the local Cub/Boy Scouts, attended Bagnall and Pentucket schools as a boy and later was the head of Norwood Insurance Agency, President of the Groveland Business Association which he was also a founder, he was always willing to support all Groveland causes both personally and financially. Peter was taken way too young at age 48 on September 9th 2017, which also happens to be the official observance of Groveland Day (see excerpt from Wikipedia below).

Join us after the race for a post-race party! A beer tent from Rockport Brewery will be set up for the Runners to enjoy.
The Entry fee is $35 per runner and includes a T-shirt and 1 beer. Additional beer tickets will be available for purchase. Entry fee increases to $40 after July 1st. Entry fee increases to $45 after August 17th.
Kid's Fun Run registration is $15. All child participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal.
Online race registration closes on September 3, 2024.
You must be registered by August 24th, 2024 to guarantee a T-shirt! Limited shirts may be available to those registered after this date.
Course
The Kid's Fun Run will start things off at 5:30 PM.
The race will begin at 5:45 pm at the Pines. Runners will turn onto Rt. 113 and run down to 7 Star Road where they will turn and continue to Governors Road. Runners will continue onto Garrison Street weaving through King, Union and Chestnut Streets to Gardner just before turning right onto Elm Park and then head back down Main Street to the finish line at the Pines.
This should be a moderate course for most runners. Walkers are welcome. Please no pets. This race has a limit of 150 runners.
Awards
Awards will be given to the overall top three male and female finishers.
All Kid's Fun Run participants will receive a medal.
I know that running a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Groveland Day 5k, the Town of Groveland, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand that this event does not provide for refunds in the event of a cancellation, and by signing this waiver, I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled before or during the event.
